The BHP Olympic Dam Mine is located in South
Australia, 560 km north of Adelaide. It is one of the
world’s largest deposits of copper, gold and uranium and
also has a significant deposit of silver.

Redpath has provided underground contract services at Olympic Dam for more than eight years, with
work still ongoing. Redpath is currently providing ground support and hand-held rehabilitation services at
the site. This specialised work includes the installation of ground support systems such as cable bolting,
fibrecrete application, and hand-held bolting. To enhance safety and environmental sustainability, Redpath
employs a growing fleet of hybrid concrete agitator trucks and electric Spraymec machines. These
vehicles improve safety and reduce environmental impact, while enhancing operational outcomes for the
mine.

Redpath has also completed various stages of lateral development and ground support using drill-and blast techniques, following the initial portal construction and decline development carried out by Redpath.
