The Appin Mine, located in Menangle, New South Wales, is part of GM³'s extensive coal operations. Redpath's role involves the design and construction of two significant ventilation shafts.

The project includes a 7.5m diameter, 590m deep downcast shaft (VS7) and a 5.55m diameter, 560m deep upcast shaft (VS8), both constructed using drill-and-blast blind-sinking techniques to ensure precision and safety. Delivered under a design-and-construct contract, the scope includes full responsibility for safety compliance, design, winder supply and registration, surface construction and the sinking of the shafts.
