Situated in Western Australia’s goldfields, the Edna
May Mine is known for its high-grade underground
gold production. Redpath’s role included delivering
comprehensive underground mining contract services,
which enhanced operational safety and efficiency,
ensuring continuous and sustainable ore extraction.
Redpath Austraila’s full-service contract at Edna May covered all aspects of underground mining, from
decline and lateral development to production mining through long-hole stoping and controlled blasting.
The scope also involved backfilling with Cemented Rock Fill (CRF), essential for ground stability,
ventilation construction, and specialised airleg work for escapeways. To manage substantial water
volumes underground, Redpath installed a robust dewatering system capable of handling up to 90 L/s.
Edna May operates as a digital mine to maintain peak productivity.
