At Grosvenor Mine, Redpath Australia excavated both the conveyor and transport drifts utilizing an earth pressure balance tunnel boring machine (TBM).

Grosvenor Mine is located 5 km north of the township of Moranbah and was established to extract coal from the Goonyella Middle Seam by conventional longwall methods.

This was the first use of a TBM approved for drift construction, in an underground coal mine in Queensland.
